Can you dynamically set prompted variables based on triggering user? #4537

tomz ·

I was wondering if it is possible to learn what user is attempting to request a build at the time when that user is being prompted for variables.

It would be useful for us if you could set default variable values based on who is making the build request, or what user group they belong to. In scripting, I can get requester names or requester IDs. However, these functions seemed locked to build objects or build request objects and neither of those objects exist at the variable prompt time. There must be some other way in scripting to find out what user is attempting to trigger a build prior to triggering it. Can you please provide me this information?
